A SAFER USE OF CHEMICALS

Lifeguards use disinfectants for pools on a daily basis; however, using these products involves a certain level of risk. A group of medical students in cooperation with the CISSS-Montérégie Centre wish to gather more information about what lifeguards who work in pools do when there is an accident involving chemicals. 

To collect this important data, they have created a survey (available in French only) to assess the lifeguards’ knowledge and skills regarding chemicals and the dangers they involve. The survey’s results will allow the research team to identify flaws in current practices and produce a set of recommendations to ensure the lifeguards’ and the population’s safety.
