Job Summary:

The Sylvan Adams YM-YWHA is seeking an Aquatics Manager in Montreal, Quebec. The facility includes a large fitness centre, swimming pool, (2) full-sized gymnasiums, group exercise studio, group cycling studio, high performance small group training studio, and an Olympic wrestling centre.

Our Centre is about to embark on a significant renovation to our facilities this Summer, with plans to transform 13,500 sq. ft. into a world class performance centre that meets the evolving needs of members & comminuty.

We are seeking a candidate with experience in management, working in community/non-profit organizations, program planning and implementation, customer service, staff volunteer recruitment, training, and performance management. Emphasis of this position will be on direct program development/delivery and statistical tracking, facility supervision and the provision of excellent customer service through relationship building strategies. The role is responsible for ensuring compliance in all Public Health Regulations including ratios, pool logs, and water quality. Additional responsibilities may include instructional and lifegaurd duties.

This role requires an individual who can build collaborative relationships with staff and members, and able to motivate a high-performance team. The ideal candidate will be goal-oriented and have experience working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. Description of mandate:

-Recruit, train, and mentor all aquatic staff and volunteers for the purpose of delivering excellence in service through Aquatics programs;

-Responsible for the development, scheduling and delivery of Aquatic programs and member engagement activities;

-Manages budgets and control expenses;

-Oversee appropriate scheduling and high quality swim lessons delivered in accordance with Red Cross Swin Program;

-Oversee all regulatory and compliance requirements for the department;

-Works an active member of the Leadership Team.

 

Candidate Profile:

-Unversity Degree or minimum (3) years of aquatic management experience;

-Current CPR C and AED, Standard First Aid, National Lifeguard;

-Excellent customer service and communication skills;

-Proficiency with a computer at an intermediate level, including Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook);

-Strong organization and time management skills;

-Excellent written and verbal communication skills in BOTH English and French;

-Capacity to build rapport with staff, members, and clients;

- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment;

- Available to work flexible and variable hours;

- Red Cross Instructor Certification an asset;

- Aquafit Instructor certification is an asset;

- Pool Operator an asset;

- Have no criminal record in connection with the employment.
