Pleasure Craft Operator Card
For years, concerned Canadians pushed for mandatory boater education to save the 200 lives lost and reduce the 6,000 non-fatal boating incidents Coast Guard estimates happen on Canadian waterways annually.
Previously anybody of any age could operate any type of boat with no training or education of any kind. Things changed April 1, 1999. Canadian recreational boaters will require a Pleasure Craft Operator Card (PCO Card) to drive a boat powered by a motor:

Pleasure Craft Boating School
